I
immigrated from Bosnia to Tukwila in 1996 with my husband and two sons, and
we became citizens last year. Both of our sons graduated from Foster and both
attend Eastern Washington University. I work at Foster Public Library and assist my husband
in managing the Normandy Court Apartments. I have a degree in civil engineering
from the University of Sarajevo and worked 20 years in engineering in Bosnia. I also
have volunteered with the Rainier Symphony and at Foster helping raise money
for senior party.
Last
year, I applied and was appointed to serve as your representative on the
Tukwila School Board. I know that education of children is really an important
component for every country that considers the future and progress. I want our
future and theirs to be happy. Serving on the Tukwila School Board lets me
serve my new country in this way.
