Demonstrated Record of Accountability and Public Service.

My 33 years experience in public service, 25 as a volunteer, gives me the experience and skills to help manage our City. I will work collaboratively with citizens, as I did on the King County Council for 8 years, to make sure that every dollar counts as we build a community that is safe, affordable, diverse and makes us proud.

The present City Council has adopted a budget that unnecessarily puts us into a deficit beginning 2004 and does not reflect priorities from citizen surveys or testimony. Services will be cut and/or taxes and fees will be increased. Significant borrowing is assumed.

Using citizen driven, fact-based, fiscally responsible decision-making I am confident we can spend less on lawsuits, outside consultants and non-essential projects and more on essential services and projects like upgrading all of Aurora not just one mile.
