CITY OF KIRKLAND COUNCIL POS. NO. 07, 4 YR TERM

Larry Springer

Larry has lived and owned a business in Kirkland for 20 years. He earned a BA from Western Washington State College, an MS from University of Oregon, taught elementary school and administered group homes for delinquent boys.

He has served two terms on the Kirkland City Council, the last two years as Mayor and has represented Kirkland on regional committees for transportation, salmon recovery, and economic development. His community involvement, including several non-profit boards, Chairman of the Kirkland Community Summit, and President of the Leadership Institute earned Larry the “1992 Citizen of the Year Award” and “2001 National Distinguished Leadership Award.”

Cities face increasing pressures from growth, transportation, housing, and human services. Proven leadership with regional experience, and local commitment, is crucial in meeting these challenges with long-term solutions for future generations.

Larry’s 15 year history of effective problem solving for the City of Kirkland demonstrates that commitment.
