METROPOLITAN KING COUNTY COUNCIL DISTRICT NO. 07, 4 YR TERM

Pete von Reichbauer

Republican

It has been a privilege to serve you as King County Councilmember for the 7th District. We have been able to succeed with many local initiatives, such as new funding for the Des Moines and Federal Way Senior Centers, a new Park and Ride lot, the South County Ballpark, Hylebos Park restoration, Bingaman Pond, Redondo Road and Boardwalk, among others. My highest priority is to be accessible and available to individual citizens who need assistance with the government bureaucracy, whether it is assisting citizens in need with processing government papers or helping someone get a response from a public agency to a neighborhood’s concern.

Transportation and public safety remain the critical issues for our region, and I will continue to seek regionally based solutions to problems in these arenas; I will push for sensible solutions! I am working with federal, state, and municipal officials on consolidating government efforts to unlock the gridlock of our region. Locally, we added thousands of hours of bus service, and reopened a major transportation artery in north Federal Way. Before any more taxes are considered, we must ensure that all possible efficiencies are made within the system, and that we balance our budget books.
