Bothell is an
excellent place to live. As a council member, I have worked to ensure our
quality of life through environmentally sensitive managed growth, continued
development of economic vitality and a well-informed public. My commitment is to
continue to make Bothell an even better place to live, raise children, work, and
do business. I want to continue to improve our relationship with Northshore
Schools, our neighborhoods and all our citizens. I care about making a
difference and have enjoyed the challenge of working to resolve difficult
issues.
I believe we can
maintain Bothell’s unique strengths, unmatched natural setting, strong community
identity, sense of history, while focusing on the improvement of our shared
quality of life. For these reasons, I again ask for your vote. Together, we can
continue to make a difference.

Retired from an
administrative/management profession, World War II veteran, University of
Washington graduate - Business Administration, 38 year Bothell resident. Elected
officials must establish policies and operations which truly benefit and
safeguard all citizens, preserve a high quality of life, protect the environment
and provide required services efficiently. Government should operate with a
philosophy resulting in minimal taxes, optimum reduction of public financial
burdens, with ethics and full disclosure. I am for: Curtailing unchecked growth
of residence/business density; A new best site study/location for the
Brightwater Sewage Treatment Plant with citizen participation; Strictly
enforced policies which minimize water/power shortages, pollution,
deforestation; For protecting wetlands/wildlife; Implementing a balanced
“Bothell Street Plan” to eliminate “non-resident” daily highway/freeway traffic
from utilizing Bothell neighborhoods; And for immediately starting a
Bothell supported, phased in, State high speed transit rail system to reduce
freeway and city traffic congestion.
