It has been both fun
and hard work serving you during my first term in office. Together, we have
strengthened our fire and police departments by adding vehicles to our fleet and
officers and firefighters on our streets. We continue to partner with
neighboring jurisdictions, King County and the State to address traffic
congestion, cut-through traffic and more bus hours. Neighborhoods remain a top
priority with dollars for enhancements, traffic calming projects and
improvements to our schools.
Our vision for the
future includes building a first-class Performing Arts Center, acquiring
additional park and open space, protecting salmon, and continuing the tradition
of listening and working with each of you.
Thank you for working
with me to address the many issues that keep Bellevue an excellent place to
live, work and raise our children.
