HIGHLINE SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 401 DIRECTOR DISTRICT NO. 02, 4 YR TERM

Steve Denmark

I support innovative solutions that create challenging environments for all students, helping them achieve their full potential.

As a volunteer I helped establish the Hi-Tech Learning program in the Highline District, and was recognized by the Washington Association of School Administrators and the King County Executive.

If elected, I will continue to cooperate with parents, teachers, members of the school board and the superintendent to insure: • quality education for all our students; • skill-building courses for our students’ careers; • academic excellence and accountability.

My wife and I have been married 21 years and our two children attend Highline schools. I am a veteran and a graduate of Western Washington University with graduate work in economics. In my professional life I am a manager for a health products firm, and I have volunteered with the PTA, the local swim club and the Hi-Tech Learning Center.

Education of our children is the most important local government responsibility. As taxpayers we want our children to receive the best education for the dollars provided. As investors in our children’s future we want to provide facilities and support for teachers that translate into a first class education for our children. My experience as an executive in the private and public sectors coupled with advanced degrees in education and public policy will allow me to make a meaningful contribution to Board policy development. My community service started in 1989 when I joined the Normandy Park City Council as an advocate for families that wanted to maintain preschool and day care services in the City. I am proud of my six years spent as registrar with the West Highline Soccer Club. This open seat is my opportunity to continue volunteer service in the community. I would appreciate your vote.
