List of Candidates for
CITY OF AUBURN COUNCIL POS. NO. 04, 4 YR TERM

Michael Weekley

Mike Weekley has lived in Auburn for over twenty years. He is married, has two sons. He is self-employed as a court reporter and has been active in PTA and Scouting.

Mike has participated in City government having spent two years on the Council. He led the fight to keep the King County Jail from being placed in Auburn.

He believes the direction Auburn should take should reflect the wishes of its citizens. Striving for lower density of housing, creating more open and park space, restricting heights on buildings, policies that will lessen traffic rather than increase it. He believes the City should not help developers pay for costs associated with building and that any impacts should be paid by the developers themselves. General fund money should be used to create a smaller town, to help the young, seniors and pay for the best in police and fire protection.

Jeanne Barber

I am a “people person,” primarily concerned with the residents of Auburn and their concerns. I have always been and continue to be for an economically healthy downtown with a responsible approach to growth. I am for strong police and fire protection and have successfully introduced a reasonable teen curfew in Auburn that has not been seen as punitive but allows for successful community policing where our officers have the opportunity to work interactively with youth, community agencies and families. I have been Mayor Pro-Tem and the Chair of the Finance Committee for many years. I am proud of my record and ever aware of the need for fiscal responsibility in the face of declining revenues. I am for you.
