CITY OF SAMMAMISH COUNCIL POS. NO. 06, 4 YR TERM

Kenneth J. Kilroy

We have made great progress on the tough issues. We’re investing $9 million annually to build critical roads and sidewalks, acquire parks and open space, and to protect the environment. I support a development moratorium until we complete a sensible comprehensive plan for our city’s future. I will continue to listen to you and target our limited resources to address your top priorities. As a fiscal conservative, I use a common sense approach to provide effective, efficient services while reducing our tax burden.

I drew on twenty-four years of law enforcement experience to more than triple our police force, facilitating assignment of officers to our schools. I secured grants for police services, saving taxpayers over $1,000,000.

Experience counts. I have served in the White House, the US Navy, the Treasury Department, and on your Council as Public Safety Chair and Deputy Mayor. I ask for your vote. Please support me.

If elected as your Councilmember, I will work with you to assure the best city possible. Our family has lived for 20 years on the Sammamish Plateau, where we have raised four children. I presently practice law in Issaquah, have volunteered in our schools and community, and have worked to preserve our natural resources. I have seen the Plateau change from a semi-rural community into a growth area, first under King County and recently under the City. With growth have come unaddressed growing pains. We need to resolve severe infrastructure shortcomings, considering the best possible technology. How do citizens wish us to pay for these corrections? We need to develop a sense of identity. We need a creative land use plan, preserving our best environmental features, while accommodating our developing urban character. I would be pleased to serve on our City Council.
