Sammamish is now
two years old, and during these two years I have worked hard to bring our
diverse citizenry, neighborhoods and agencies along the road towards community
unity. I have applied my analytical skills, as well as my negotiating and
financial experience, to the many local and regional issues confronting our
city.
It is important that a young city get its voice heard on
regional issues. Whether it was sounding the alarm on the huge cost over-runs
emerging in the Sound Transit light rail program, or pushing Sound Transit and
Metro to greatly enhance the transit service in Sammamish, I have used the
regional pulpit to preach our city’s needs.
From organizing a Sammamish Mathematics Contest to an "All
About Roads Day" event, I have endeavored to engage the community with the
Council and staff in defining and realizing our vision for the future of this
emerging city.
