The City of Kirkland’s potential annexation area (PAA) is comprised of the Finn Hill, Juanita and Kingsgate neighborhoods. Use the map and search function below to determine whether an address falls within this PAA and/or within an active annexation area. The map controls allow you to zoom-in to see street names and other neighborhood features. The search function will place a star on the map if the address searched is within a PAA.
These areas are generally located to the north of the City of Kirkland, and south of the cities of Kenmore, Bothell and Woodinville. The City of Bothell has a PAA that abuts the City of Kirkland’s.
Status updates
At its December 15, 2009 meeting, the Kirkland City Council took action to accept the annexation of the Finn Hill, North Juanita and Kingsgate neighborhoods without requiring the voters in those areas to assume existing voter-approved debt. The Council approved Resolution 4791 which expressed its intent to accept the annexation and Ordinance 4229 which formally accepts the annexation area to the City of Kirkland, makes the annexation area subject to zoning regulations adopted via Ordinance 4196 and sets the effective date of annexation as June 1, 2011.
