AIMs High performance reports can help you understand social, economic, and environmental conditions throughout the county and what King County government is doing to improve those conditions. AIMs High has been recognized as an outstanding example of public performance reporting by the Association of Government Accountants.

AIMS High provides residents and policy makers with timelier measures and indicators related to all branches and agencies in King County, including measures on services provided by the Sheriff, Elections, Assessor, Superior and District Courts and the Auditor's Office.

New Legislation, New Name, Experienced Staff
Late in 2008, the county adopted the Performance and Accountability Act (844KB PDF), a new ordinance which formalized several of our existing practices (including public performance reporting) and added new requirements for strategic planning at the county and agency/department level. As a result, former County Executive Ron Sims created a new, single office using existing staff to support strategic planning and performance management in an integrated and seamless cycle.

Countywide Strategic Plan
One of the legislation's new requirements is to create the county's first countywide strategic plan. The plan will be used to identify county priorities and shape our future services based on input from the public. More info: countywide strategic plan.

Highlighting Our Community Indicators
This site uses community-level indicators from the King County Benchmark Program to help us understand growth management in the county and agency performance measures, and indicators from Communities Count, a project committed to improving community health and well-being through information advocacy about conditions that matter to King County residents.
